Another tablerunner. Another time-crunched project. I thought I had until the day of the wedding to finish this, then learned that we would need to deliver the wedding gifts two days sooner before the bride's parents left town to help get ready for the wedding in Syracuse. The newlyweds had five colors of Fiestaware picked out in the registry. I tried to find fabrics to match those colors to make this quilt. I got the top pieced, layered and basted before I saw that I had misplaced two of the squares! This photo is before I fixed things by appliquéing two squares over the misguided ones. I completely forgot to photograph the quilt before I shoved it into the box with the other gifts and wrapped it all up. You can see how the center part was quilted from the photo of my stitching sample. The dark blue border was quilted with triple piano keys all around. I ended up doing all of the quilting with my walking foot. It gave straighter, more even results than I could achieve with a ruler. Since this piece was so small, I could easily rotate every time I came to a corner. Batting:

I saw a quilt like this on Pinterest and thought it would make a great baby quilt. In fact, when I started it, I thought I would be giving it to my Habitat colleague's baby daughter. Once it was done, however, I decided that I liked Butterfly Dance better for a little girl. So this quilt doesn't have a label yet. It will sit on the shelf until the right recipient comes along. All of the colored patches in the center of the quilt were cut from one piece of multi-colored batik. It is quilted with a variegated thread of unknown manufacturer and fiber content that I found in my stash. I used rulers to stitch all of the curved lines. The yellow X's in the inner border had to be fussy cut and very carefully pieced to appear continuous. I managed to make this work really well. The border quilting is my own design, again done with rulers. The binding is the same multi-colored batik fabric. However, I thought it stood out a bit too much so I tried to tone it down by adding decorative stitching on top of it using blue thread to match the border. This idea was less than successful, but once I got started, there was no turning back. Batting: Quilter's Dream Puff 100% polyester Quilting Threads:
